islet cells – modulate insulin secretion
Sensory nerve terminals – show possibility that peripheral receptors may be targets for certain forms of pain associated with inflammation.
Cardiac – Ionotropic receptor subunits appear to be expressed by the cardiac ganglia – function is unknown
Antagonists of NMDA – slow bone resortption. Periphery receptors may be used for diabetes or osteoporosis
