Community Philosophy

While we live in the most heavily media saturated time in history, St. Lawrence County benefits very little from the hyper-commercialized mass media television. Cable and satellite TV offer more and more channels but little real choice or diversity. Coverage of civic discourse at the national level generalizes and sensationalizes issues.

Now we have an alternative that matters for the North Country—programming by, for and about us—our issues in our own voices.

Programming Focus

The producers and crew have developed North Country Matters specifically for local people about issues and interests of importance to our community. Written, produced, and broadcast by people who live right here, we highlight local educational, cultural, and governmental issues.
